The project brief asked for a stimulating interior design for a young and ambitious design company. The company had purchased five floors of a new office building on Beijing’s third East ring road. Each floor was to be organized with individual departments.

In order to stimulate interaction between the departments, two circle shaped, Bramante-like staircases are introduced in the center of the floors. The stacking of the two stairs creates a 15 meter high forum stair which connects logistically and visually all floors.

More than a just connection, the stair aims to functions as the central meeting point of the company by providing two forum like stair spaces and integrating a double high meeting room. Next to informal meetings, the forums can be used for temporary exhibitions and planting.
